What makes Equinesse set itself apart?
The number one answer is: TERRIFIC RESULTS, 22+ YEARS EXPERIENCE, RESPECT, HONESTY, LOYALTY and DEDICATION.
What you can expect from my working relationship with your horse.
A mixture of any of the following:
Increase in range of motion, increased suppleness, rhythmic movement, improvement in quality of gaits and length of stride, positive changes in disposition, work ethic, quicker recovery time after work outs, dull coats become shiny, decrease in perceived 'training issues' that were due to body restrictions, i.e. 'breakthroughs' in training, easing body discomfort -which generally increases overall willingness to work, increased confidence levels, pride in performance.
It is a well known fact that massage improves general well-being and overall health.
I bring my passion and talents in the bodywork field, as well as over 17 years of experience, into the game. Each horse is unique and I feel it's important to develop trust, understanding and a special bond with each and every client.
I've worked with many different disciplines of equestrian sports (dressage, show jumping, hunters, reigning cow horses, polo ponies, trail and endurance, western pleasure). Paying close attention to and recognizing patterns in use and the subsequent impact on the muscular system, have given me a keen eye as to where the restrictions are. Over time I have developed my own unique and very effective approach in releasing restricted areas so that the body can start functioning again in the way that the original 'blue print' was intended.
An other key component is my initial intensive approach. Experience has shown the effectiveness of starting a new client out with a 3 session 'work-up'. Meaning: 3 appointments within a 2-week period. This allows me to 'strip away' the layers that have been building up over time. Since the sessions are so close together, there is no lengthy time lapse in which the horse can revert back before I get to address the next layers. Based on what's left after the 3 initial sessions, we put the horse on a maintenance program, which will start 2, 3 or 4 weeks later. All subsequent maintenance sessions are scheduled with no more than 4 weeks in between sessions. Trial and error has proven for this to work to the benefit of the horse.
My clients share my dedication and understand the effectiveness of the maintenance bodywork schedule. Those who 'wait' for issues to (re-)appear are generally behind the game. The favorable approach is prevention. For the bodyworker to catch things early. Well before there is a problem noticeable to the rider.
It is incredibly rewarding for me to work with these dedicated riders, whether they compete at a World cup/Grand Prix, perhaps lower level, or are recreational riders.
